Starting Computer Units

Aside from documenting our new plan, we also need to include on choosing a computer unit which will reflect our cause. Here are the options that I think would suit our need:
Option 1: Raspberry Pi ( http://www.raspberrypi.org/ )
Pros:
  • small and compact
  • power efficient
  • low cost (average pricing PHP 2000.00)
  • can be powered by common battery cells
Cons:
  • hard to find a re-seller (few)
  • display incompatibility to affordable LCD monitor with vga
Option 2: Utilite as proposed by Alvin ( http://utilite-computer.com/web/home )
Pros:
  • small and compact
  • power efficient
  • low cost (price a little bit higher than Raspberry Pi - USD 99.00)
  • more functionality ports (e.g. 2 Gb ethernet, OTG, Wifi+bluetooth)
Cons:
  • not yet available as of this writing
  • not yet sure if there will be a re-seller in the Philippines
Option 3: Old PC or Laptop/netbook units
Pros:
  • easy to find
  • can be easily fixed when broken sue to availability of parts
  • compatible with vga LCD monitors
  • low cost pricing
Cons:
  • bulky for computing on the go for desktop type
Note: We need to own one, for us to test it. KKB (kanya-kanyang bili) muna :D. hahaha
Alvin need our inputs here. :D
